The room

Two chambers on the first floor of number twenty-four, where the ceilings run to eleven feet and the cornices are the best in the building.

The Royal Chambers keep the proportions of the original drawing rooms. The plaster ceilings are intact, with a centre rose and a deep cornice, and the sash windows are the tallest in the house.

Beds are custom-built super-king with an upholstered headboard. Sofas are covered in undyed Foxford wool. The bathroom is a separate room with a limestone shower and a deep soaking bath.

Both chambers look over Aungier Street; secondary glazing behind the original sashes keeps the room quiet at night.
