Francis Aungier Suite

The Francis Aungier Suite is named for the man who laid out the street in the 1660s, and it is the largest room in the house - the only one that is never split. Three tall sash windows run along the front, with the original shutters folded into the reveals, and the drawing room takes the morning light across the whole width of the street.

A pair of double doors opens from the drawing room to the bedroom, where a hand-built super-king bed sits between two working fireplaces. Behind the bed, the dressing room leads to a bathroom with a freestanding cast-iron bath and a separate limestone shower.

There is a writing table, a decanter of Irish whiskey and a small library chosen by the house. A daybed in the drawing room makes up as a third bed on request.
