Longford Parlour

The parlour comes first: a sofa in undyed Foxford wool, a marble fireplace laid in the evening, and two sash windows onto the street. It is a room for sitting in, not passing through.

The bedroom lies beyond a pair of painted double doors that close firmly. Beds are custom-built super-king, dressed in undyed Belgian linen. The bathroom has a cast-iron bath and a walk-in limestone shower.

Both suites are on the quieter side of the landing, away from the stairs. A writing table and a small shelf of Irish poetry are kept in the parlour.
